The Shopping List

The Shopping List

My Mum had sent me shopping,
with a list of food to get.
I was glad to have a shopping list,
so I’d not forget.

Arriving at the corner store,
I soon found something nice.
A pack of chocolate ice creams
on sale for half the price.

I also found potato chips
and a great big chocolate block.
The store had lots of doughnuts,
but soon were out of stock.

The popcorn looked appealing,
so I picked up twenty packs.
Then it was time to go back home,
with all my tasty snacks.

Back at home I greeted Mum,
she yelled and shook her fist.
Nothing that I’d bought that day
was on the shopping list.

Book News

Hey all, I haven’t posted much in the last couple of months, so here’s an update on what I’ve been doing. I’ve been busy working on the sequel to my MG novel, The Adventures of Captain Cranky The King’s Treasure. Making good progress and I should have the book finished in the next couple of months!

The Powder Monkeys

Hey everyone, a couple of weeks ago I showed you the first illustration of Captain Cranky from my new MG book, The Adventures of Captain Cranky - The King's Treasure. Now I'd like to show you some members of his crew.

These are the mischievous powder monkeys and they're responsible for manning and supplying the cannons with gunpowder.

The illustration is by Lori Escobar, who worked on my two previous books.

I'll be posting more about Cranky and his crew in the coming weeks.
